About Us

We are Mike, Jill, and Brandon, and we are your hosts of the current King of the Heap series. We started out "way back" in the 2010s, probably similar to you... as a group of friends looking for a cheap, easy entry into the world of motorsports. We got into the endurance racing world, building and racing a crazy lineup of cars in the 24 Hours of Lemons, Lucky Dog, and Champcar race series. We came across a local event, King of the Heap, in 2019, where people took $500 "Heaps" and competed with each other on the NCM Motorsports track and in autocross. We loved the event, but unfortunately over the years, it could never find its stride and fell by the wayside. We are reviving it now in the same spirit of the original, with a strong view to keep it going and build this into a real community for entry level motorsports. Thank you for helping us make something great!
